Karim Bamusi goals on weekend helped Airborne Rangers to displace Mafco Fc at the top of Chipiku Central Region Football Association (CRFA) league.
Rangers beat Jidi Fc and Chitedze Strikers with 1-0 victories on Saturday and Sunday respectively in an outing engagements.
Bamusi was the hero scoring in both games to dislodge Mafco at the top of the table courtesy of a single goal difference.
The teams tie on 65 points from 28 games played so far and they share a record of 20 wins, five draws and three loses.
Rangers Coach Kondwani Gawani expressed confidence of joining Super league.
“Its our dream to play in super league and we are very confident that will make it, as all things are possible with working hard and God,” he said.
Mafco had a mixed fortunes collecting four points from possible six, the development that saw them slump to second position.
They gave away a narrow lead in the dying minute to draw 1-1 against Holy Cross Ambassadors after Zikani Sichinga had put them ahead.
On Sunday they beat Green Rangers 3-1 with goals from Sichinga, Kalisto Kalinda and Alfred Nyondo, a game that saw them playing with bips as the jersey crashed in colour with the home team.
They also played with ten men after Stain Malata was red carded with few minutes from recess for a second bookable offense.
Mafco coach Stereo Gondwe discribed the weekend result as success.
“We could have collected all the points on Saturday only that we conceeded in the last minutes of that game, and thats part of football,” he said.
In other games, Silver Reserve beat Mchinji Boma Stars 1-0 at Silver Stadium.
They are on third with 54 points from 28 games.
Dedza Dynamos beat Chitedze Strikers 2-0 with goals from Lorenzo Ghedo and Creede Tembo
Dynamos are on fourth with 53 points from 28 games.
