Eswatini came from behind to beat Malawi 2-1 in the on going Under 17 2019 COSAFA Youth Championship at Mpira stadium in Blantyre on Monday.
The Junior flames started on offensive note.
They created a lot of chances but Eswatini’s defence and good goal keeping frustrated them for the entire first half.
In the second half, they continued their attacks and were rewarded in the 62nd minute when they finally found the back of the net through Noel Sakala.
Eswatini retailiated and leveled the scores seven minutes later through their captain Colan Dvuba.
They came again to register their second goal in the 73rd minute through Khayalethu Zitha, 2-1 which earn a hard fought three points.
Their goalkeeper Siyabonga Magagula was named man of the Match.
Eswatini coach Gcina Dlamini was happy with the result.
“We watched Malawi on Saturday against South Africa and we saw their mistakes and weaknesses,” he said.
On the other side Coach for Malawi Deklerk Msakakuona was disappointed.
“The game was tough Eswatini came hard on us after losing to Zambia 6-0. We struggled In the first half but we got a goal in second but failed to defend it,” he said.
On their survival chances, Msakakuona said they will do anything to beat Zambia on Wednesday.
Malawi need to win against Zambia this coming to secure a place in semi finals.
